This award recognizes businesses that are committed to good corporate governance practices while addressing local and/or global challenges. It addresses UN Sustainable Development Goal nr 8 – “Decent Work and Economic Growth”.

Criteria:

– Governance: Does the company run a sound governance system, with a structured plan with roles/responsibilities and agreed decision making process? To what extend has the company also integrated ethical, transparency and D&I standards and policies?

– Impact: What is the business’ potential for significant social impact and engagement of the broader community? (individual, community, systemic)

– Alignment with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: Is the solution aligned with specific UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and Targets?

Intel® AI Innovators Award recognizes teams who used AI tools and methodologies in their business projects to create innovative AI-based solutions addressing social challenges.

Award Criteria:

Innovation: To what extend is it a novel solution with the potential to solve an existing challenge?
Impact: What is the business’ potential for significant social impact and engagement of the broader community? (individual, community, systemic)
Applicability of AI: To what extend is the use of AI critical to the solution?
Responsible use of AI: How the data has been collected? How did the team tackle potential biases and ethical challenges?
Alignment with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: Is the solution aligned with speci­fic UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and Targets?

The finalists of Intel® AI Innovators Award will be qualified to compete in the annual Intel® AI Global Impact Festival, in September 2022. The virtual Intel® AI Global Impact Festival will give the award-winners a chance to showcase their AI-based business projects to the wider global audience.

Johnson&Johnson Brilliant STEM Innovation Award

This award recognizes mini-companies that have incorporated innovative science, technology, engineering and math strategies and practices aimed at creating positive community impact, in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Criteria:

STEM Innovation: To what extend is it a novel STEM solution with the potential to solve an existing local challenge?
Impact: What is the business’ potential for significant social impact and engagement of the broader community? (individual, community, systemic)
Sustainability: To what extend does the business consider the different dimensions of financial and social sustainability in a conscientious manner?
Potential market – is the market of the product defined? What kind of a market it is? Is the project scalable?
Alignment with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: Is the solution aligned with speci­fic UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and Targets?
